Karma 1.7.20 is now available for Intel-based Mac OS X computers.
ATNF users will find it in /nfs/atapplic/karma/i386_Darwin.
It was built from the most recent version of the Karma source code
available which is slightly older than current, 1.7.25. (Other
platforms, including PowerPC Macs, already have binary installations
of this later version.)
A tar file, i386_Darwin-v1.7.20.tar.bz2, is available at
ftp://ftp.atnf.csiro.au/pub/software/karma/current/
Install into ./karma as follows:
bzcat i386_Darwin-v1.7.20.tar.bz2 | tar pvxf -
(The tar file is fully self-contained - karma.share-v1.7.25.tar.gz
should NOT be installed with it.) If you didn't install directly into
/usr/local/karma then you will need to create that as a symlink:
cd ./karma
sudo ln -s `pwd` /usr/local/karma
To use the various Karma tools, such as kvis and xray, on the console of
your Mac you will need to start X11 running alongside Aqua.
