"[duchamp-user]" [Duchamp] New release - 1.1.12

Gday all,

This email announces the availability of a new version of the Duchamp source finder - 1.1.12.

This version fixes a couple of bugs that were present in the recently-released 1.1.11. The main bug fix relates to the velocity width calculations. When calculating W50 and W20 (being the spectral width of a detection at 50% and 20% of the peak flux), the integrated spectrum was being incorrectly normalised, potentially leading to spuriously-large values (eg. many 1000s of km/s for normal galaxies). This bug affected both 1.1.10 and 1.1.11. If velocity width measurements are important to your research, I urge you to upgrade.
The other bug fix relates to the parsing of subsections, and improves the error handling and detection of incompatible subsections.
Additionally, there is a minor improvement to the configure script to better handle the pgsbox library - this deals with a build problem caused by improved building of recent WCSLIB versions. Some unnecessary #include statements in one file (that were causing the build to fail when pgplot was not enabled) have been removed.

The new code is available for download from the usual place:
http://www.atnf.csiro.au/people/Matthew.Whiting/Duchamp/downloads.php
and any feedback (which is always welcome!) should be done via the Trac wiki:
http://svn.atnf.csiro.au/trac/duchamp/newticket
Note that the feedback can be either bug reports or suggested improvements.

I hope Duchamp continues to be of use to many of you.
Happy finding!

Matt Whiting.
