Hi all,
(Max, Sergei - please read carefully!)
I will send more detail on Monday or Tuesday, but I thought I would send a
summary of what is happening, incase any setup is needed beforehand.
LBA participates is in the time range:
14:45:00-22:30:00 UT (Wed 17 Nov)
Only the ATCA records for the entire time.
The basic frequency setup is:
Frequencies: 1 mode 'sprdS'
LSB USB LSB USB LSB USB 8 16MHz channels, 512Mbps
RCP \_/ \_/ \_/ \_/ \_/ \_/
LCP \_/ \_/
|
2039.99-2055.99 LSB RCP \__=> Cassini, MEX spacecraft
2055.99-2071.99 USB RCP in this band.
2139.99-2155.99 LSB RCP
2155.99-2171.99 USB RCP
2270.99-2286.99 LSB RCP
2286.99-2302.99 USB RCP
2270.99-2286.99 LSB LCP
2286.99-2302.99 USB LCP
This requires 2 DAS with each USB/LSB being the output from one IFP of the
DAS.
For the 4 bands the *central* frequency of the input to the DAS will be
2055.99, 2155.99, 2286.99 & 2286.99 MHz. The ATCA and Ceduna will only
record the 2270.99 - 2302.99 MHz channels (dual pol).
DAS profiles. To match the VLBA recording, a special DAS profile is
needed. This is basically a copy of the vsop.pro profile (or equivalent)
but two changes are needed:
- change bit encoding from VLBA to AT (sign/mag)
- The "LSB" output needs to be flipped to look like a real
LSB.
Parkes, Mopra and the ATCA should be OK. Ceduna better email me if they
have questions, but I don't know how to drive the DOS-in-a-box DAS control
program.
Specific Antenna notes:
ATCA:
Will only record a using a single DAS for the entire run.
UT 14:45:00-22:30:00
The caobs frequency should be set to 2287 MHz.
Mopra:
Will record for two periods:
UT 14:45:00-19:30:00
UT 20:50:00-22:30:00
Recording will have to be stopped (by hand) during the off period
Record all frequencies.
Parkes:
Due to elevation limitation starts late. Do not start recording until
the beginning of the Parkes schedule. Observes also in two periods.
UT 15:45:00-19:30:00
UT 20:20:00-22:30:00
Ceduna:
Only records the dual pol signal. The centre of the DAS input frequency
should be 2286.99 MHz.
Records for two periods:
UT 14:45:00-19:30:00
UT 20:50:00-22:30:00
Hobart:
Your on your own here. I calculate you are recording for 6h25m, as
you also have an 1h20m gap in the middle.
Max: You have Mopra & Ceduna Recording for 6h25m total. I calculate this
as 1478 (metric) Gigabytes. The disks have available 1526 Gigabytes. You
may find the last few minutes are crap as the disks start to slow down. We
will probably be able to tell you if this happens.
On Parkes you have 5h55m scheduled. You could increase this a little, if
you were daring, but again you may run into trouble at the end.
Cheers
Chris
