Simon,

I agree absolutely. I have created some vlba sched setup files for
exactly this reason. Unfortunately not many people seem to use them AFAIK.
These setups may not be optimal, but until people try using them we will
never know.

One complication is that (for example) the frequency choice depends on
whether Tid is taking part or not, due to the very different constraints
on telescopes.
