Subject: LBA @ 1 Gbps
Hi All,
Just letting you all know that we have just got first fringes on the LBA
at 1 Gbps recording date.
The test experiment is using two DAS at ATCA and Parkes each recording
data at 512 Mbps to disk and 512 Mbps at Mopra, Hobart and Ceduna. Using
the latest version of the Swinburne software correlator we have seen
fringes on all ATNF baselines, with a total of 1 Gbps between ATCA and
Parkes.
Thanks to Dick Ferris for help with sorting out problems with the special
cable needed to achieve these data rates and Adam Deller for modifying his
correlator to work with this mode and all the VLBI observers cooperation
with this no-standard setup.
No plots yet sorry - tomorrow :-)
cheers
Chris
