Dear Phil,
Many thanks for your e-mail and for all your efforts re the VSOP-2 meeting. What about including a short review of the VSOP-1 science program (or is that Programme?) in order to set the scene for the new mission? And I'd happily give Hirax and Kameno-san each a 30 minute slot.
Also, I seem to remember that the APT was set up especially to support the VSOP mission, so I'd also suggest that there be some sort of either APT Report or at least a discussion period to discuss GRT support for VSOP-2. Given the Senior Review's pronouncements this is likely to be an important issue for VSOP-2. We could even consult with Preston and Co. at JPL as to what they see as possible Tidbinbilla support.
Cheers,
Dave

Hi VLBIers,
Here's a brief summary of planning for the one-day VSOP-2 meeting to be
held at Epping on Friday March 9th. The following week is "IAU Symposium
242: Astrophysical Masers and their Environments" which a number of
Japanese colleagues will be attending, hence the timing of this meeting.
A provisional list of topics and speakers is:
VSOP-2 overview - Hirabayashi/Murata
VSOP-2 science goals - Kameno
LBA status - Tzioumis
eVLBI - Phillips
Correlators - Tingay/Deller
VSOP-2 correlator - Kobayashi
ATCA /Mopra - Edwards
7mm receivers - Moorey
AT20G - Ricci/Sadler
VSOP-2 Phase referencing - Asaki
ISS & VSOP-2 - Jauncey/Lovell
VERA - Honma
Parkes - Reynolds
Hobart/Ceduna - Ellingsen
NCRIS Geoscience - Dickey
Hartebeesthoek - Booth?
VSOP-2 tracking stations - Murata/Mochizuki
This works out to 15 minutes for most talks.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions or comments.
Cheers,
Phil
