Hi all,
We are pleased to announce yesterday we successfully got realtime
eVLBI fringes at 1 Gbps between ATCA and Parkes.
Data from ATCA was sent as two 512 Mbps streams to Parkes, one
stream directly and the other via Sydney using the AARNet regional
network. At Parkes, the ATCA and Parkes data were copied onto the
Swinburne CPSR2 cluster (a cluster of 30 dual processor P4s) and
processed using the Swinburne DiFX software correlator. Fringe plot
and weather map attached.
Using a similar approach to the networking we also achieved realtime
eVLBI fringes between Parkes,Mopra and ATCA at 512 Mbps.
Many thanks to Adam Deller and Shaun Amy for all their efforts
getting this going.
Regards
Chris Phillips
