Further to this meeting. AUT have advised that accommodation should be booked asap... perhaps before Xmas!
Here are the details:

Accommodation: Scenic Hotel, 380 Queen Street, Auckland
Special standard room rate: $120 + gst a night
To book send an email to: auckland_at_scenichotels.<!--nospam-->co.nz
Subject: 'Attention Amartya' who is the Reservations Manager and in the message state that you would like the AUT University rate.

It will also be good for planning purposes if people send us a quick email that they will be attending so we have some better idea of numbers.
