Dear All,

I've resurrected a project to extract Tsys measurements from recorded
VLBI data at the correlator, with a new PhD student currently working
on this with Randall and myself.

Can I ask a few questions of the collective wisdom of this list:

* At the ATCA, with the CABB system it appears that there is no longer
a short timescale ALC in operation. The 8 Hz switched noise source
appears as a very nice square wave in power. Can someone confirm what
is currently implemented at the ATCA in terms of an ALC?

* Does Mopra have the same ALC system as the ATCA, or does it still
have the old system still? From a preliminary look, seems to be a
different system to the ATCA, at least in terms of the ALC.

* Can someone tell me where I can find the Tcal values for the ATCA
and Mopra at all frequencies?

* Can someone tell me what we should expect for the switched noise
source at Parkes (percentage of Tsys, switching timescale, Tcal values
etc)? Does a short timescale ALC operate?

* Can someone tell me what we should expect for the switched noise
source at Hobart, Ceduna and Tidbinbilla (timescales, Tcal values,
percentage of Tsys etc)? I think I recall that the noise sources are
only fired infrequently and may be controlled by the field system
schedule. Can someone describe what happens at these telescopes?
Does a short timescale ALC operate?

* I gather there are no switched noise sources and/or ALC in the ASKAP
or Warkworth systems?

* Do the AuScope systems have switched noise sources and/or ALC? If
so, could someone describe them, please?

Cheers, Steven
