Hi Chris,

I sent the VLBI view directly to the management months ago… Is it worth repeating it to ATUC?

Specifically on Parkes:

Long term with broadband receivers and no changes it'll be very good for VLBI. We need to manage the transition.
Only concern is the fate of the S/X receiver and with it the IVS type of observations.

Anyway, both you and Hayley have been part of the VLBI inputs for the ATNF discussions. The same views can be conveyed at ATUC by both of you as our reps.

Written for a hotel room at LHR… if more is needed I can try at the next in Singapore on Friday. Just let me know

Cheers
Tasso

If you have concerns about how the receiver rationalisation may affect VLBI please put those concerns in writing to Hayley or me before lunch time tomorrow (Friday, Sydney time).
