Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the workshop "The 5th East Asia VLBI workshop 2012",
on behalf of the East Asia VLBI Consortium.

VERA has produced a large amount of fruitful results in astrometry and astrophysics.
The Japanese VLBI Network (JVN) has expanded its capability by including
two 32 m telescopes in Ibaraki, and has intensively conducted VLBI
observations, especially, towards methanol maser sources.
The Korean VLBI Network (KVN) has started joint observations with VERA.
The Chinese VLBI Network (CVN), consisting of four VLBI stations
and the VLBI data processing center in Shanghai, has
successfully performed VLBI observations of AGN and pulsars.
Some CVN telescopes have been also involved actively in the international VLBI
observations with other networks including the East Asia VLBI Network.
ASIAA in Taiwan has started a site-testing effort at Summit Camp in
Greenland and works on retrofitting the ALMA North America prototype
antenna with international collaborators, aiming to establish a new
sub-millimeter VLBI site.

In this workshop, latest scientific results and technical achievements/developments
will be reported to exchange the newest ideas, and future collaborations in East Asia
region to enhance VLBI and related activities would be discussed.
