Dear colleagues,

We are happy to announce that our new 30m radio telescope at Warkworth, New Zealand, WARK30M (recently converted from the telecommunication Earth station) has successfully participated in its first scientific VLBI observations at 6.7 GHz. With an uncooled receiver the average SEFD at 45 deg elevation was 650 Jy.

More details can be found in

http://arxiv.org/abs/1502.06802

(See also http://arxiv.org/abs/1407.3346)

We hope WARK30M will be regularly participating in VLBI projects.

Kind regards,
Sergei (on behalf of the team that includes
Leonid Petrov
Tim Natusch
Stuart Weston
Jamie McCallum
Simon Ellingsen
and Sergei Gulyaev)
