Please see below the programme of the event we run in Auckland on 16-27 April.
There will be three parts:
1. Workshop "VLBI programs at the Southern Hemisphere"
-- status report of SOAP program
-- status report of Fermi association program
-- proposed program of AGN monitoring with Radio
Interferometer in New Zealand (RINZ)
2. Seminar "VLBI radio astrometry" by Leonid Petrov.
3. Training:
-- Theoretical basis of VLBI data analysis
o fringe fitting
o computation of theoretical path delays
o parameter estimation
o imaging
-- Practical post-correlation data analysis with
o PIMA
o Psolve
-- Practical imaging VLBI observations with Difmap
-- Practical scheduling with sur_sked
The goal of the training is to provide a jump-start for attendees to start data analysis of the correlator output.
I am pleased to extend invitation to you and your students.
No registration fee.

Subject: Auckland 16-27 April "VLBI Astrometry and Geodesy" tutorial with Leonid Petrov
Dear All,
Leonid Petrov from the US will run a tutorial on Practical Methods of Radio Astronomy Data Analysis with emphasis on VLBI Astrometry and Geodesy. The tutorial will cover review of modern methods and software used for data analysis including correlation, imaging, etc. for geodetic and astrometric VLBI programmes.
It will be a hands-on practicum. Participants are expected to have basic s/w installed on their laptops before the workshop, in particular, pima, psolve, and difmap.
I am pleased to extend invitation to you and your students.
No registration fee.
