Vacancy for Electrical Technician - Parkes

This is a great opportunity for an electrical technician to work at the CSIRO Parkes Observatory in NSW.

As a licensed electrician you will apply your skills to undertake maintenance and upgrades across a range of electrical systems on the radio telescopes. You will also work on the fixed wiring installation systems associated with the Observatory buildings. You will be a member of a multi-site engineering team and will work, to a very high standard of reliability and safety, under the local supervision of a senior industrial electrician.

As a Technical Officer you will also be asked to provide some support for other engineering activities at the Observatory. These will depend on your experience and, for example, may include support for installing and maintaining electronic equipment and/or support for radio-frequency systems. Previous experience in electronics and/or other relevant trade qualifications will be highly regarded.

To be successful in this role you will be an experienced electrician who enjoys working as part of a small team. You will enjoy supporting a range of technical work at the Observatory and will be willing to travel to other CSIRO sites at times to work for up to a few days.
