Lee Spitler Colloquium: Breakthrough Listen: jump-starting SETI research

Abstract

I'll share my recent experience sitting in on the advisory committee
meeting for Breakthrough Listen - a $100 million initiative to fund
SETI research over the next 10 years. This will be an informal talk
about SETI, the planned Breakthrough Listen projects and opportunities
for participating in the future. I'll focus mostly on new ideas for
optical SETI, including some interesting instrumentation concepts.
