Visitor Centres Manager, Parkes - Indefinite- Now Closes 9 Dec07

A highly motivated science centre manager is required by the Australia Telescope National Facility (ATNF), CSIRO, for Radioastronomy Visitor Centre operations at Parkes and Narrabri with regular interactions with Communications and Outreach staff at Marsfield, Sydney.The Centres are open 7 days a week and currently host around 140,000 visitors per annum. While it's anticipated the appointee will be based at the Parkes Observatory, regular travel to Sydney and Narrabri is entailed.

Parkes (population 10,000) is a thriving, pleasant country town, 350 km west of Sydney, having good access to the regional centres of Dubbo and Orange. Facilities such as schools, health care centres and transport services are good. The Observatory is 25 km from Parkes and daily CSIRO transport to the site is available.
