Galaxy Formation - How and When? - Prof. Duncan Forbes Colloquium

Abstract

I will present some new (and old) results relating to some of the
major questions in galaxy formation, i.e. how did galaxies form and
when did galaxies form? Issues include early dissipational collapse,
and late epoch mergers and accretions. As well as the galaxies
themselves I will draw on globular cluster systems for insight.
