The radiosource population at high frequency: followup of the 15-GHz 9C survey - Dr Garret Cotter Colloquium

Abstract

I will discuss the ongoing followup campaign of the new 9C survey at 15
GHz, including multifrequency radio observations, optical imaging and
spectroscopy. The population mix at this newly-explored high frequency
includes a significant fraction of GPS and CSS sources. I will give
particular attention to sources which are likely to be very recently
triggered and will discuss scenarios for the ignition of radiosources,
and the evidence which may be assembled from samples of very young
sources.
