ATCA Science Day

19:00 Wed 11 Jun to 10:00 Thu 12 Jun 2008

ATNF Marsfield Lecture Theatre

****** ATCA Science Day ******

All astronomers are invited to come and give science talks about the important projects they envisage doing with the Australia Telescope Compact Aarray (ATCA) in the next 5 years and beyond.

The motivation for this meeting is to provide an overview of the science strengths of the ATCA, both now and in the ASKAP era, in a global context as perceived by our user community. The need for doing this comes from the possible future pressures on the ATNF operating budget. If difficult choices become necessary in the coming years, it will be critical to preserve (and extend) the capabilities in those areas where the ATCA can excel.

Please email your talk to at_meetings@atnf.csiro.au (subject: ATCA Science Day - your name) or - if that fails - to the Astrophysics Group secretary Jennifer.Lee@csiro.au .

Video-conferencing number: (02) 6246 3160

Organisers: Baerbel Koribalski and Ilana Feain
