The NGC 1533 galaxy system

ATCA Results

The NGC 1533 galaxy system (HIPASS J0409-56) consists of the bright lenticular galaxy NGC 1533 and two small companions, IC 2038 and IC 2039, to the north-west.

NGC 1533: Type = (L)SB(rs)0 LINER, optical diameter = 2.8' x 2.3'.
IC 2038: Type = Sd pec, optical diameter = 1.7' x 0.4'.
IC 2039: Type = S0 pec, optical diameter = 1.0' x 0.7'.
