Radio Astronomy at Potts Hill
Potts Hill in Sydney was the site of 11 radio astronomy telescopes, including a synthesis telescope (32 x 1.8-m dishes operating at 1420 MHz) to observe the solar corona in the early 1950s. The first six minutes of this video - "CSIRO Division of Radiophysics in 1949" - highlight the radio astronomy investigations and innovations during those times.
