| Repairs of the Parkes Master Equatorial |

| The image above shows the beginning of work last week to replace gears of the Parkes Master Equatorial telescope. The large circular gear wheel partly visible in the image, which drives the Hour Angle axis of the equatorial telescope, is driven by the worm gear below it. (From a comparison with yesterday's ADAP, we can see that the dress code has relaxed a little in the last 55 years!) |
