| Phased-Array Feed on the 100-m Effelsberg telescope |

| On the 5th of May a chequerboard Phased-Array
Feed was hoisted up to the focus of MPIfR's 100-m Effelsberg telescope
near Bonn in Germany. The Effelsberg Phased-Array Feed (PAF) is very similar
to the 36 ASKAP PAFs, all build by the brilliant staff at CSIRO Astronomy and
Space Science (CASS) in close collaboration with many industry partners. First
Effelsberg observations with the new PAF are under way to carry out calibration
tests and early science commissioning.
