Emil is re-joining us after having spent the past 6 years
at the University of Sydney
node of CAASTRO
working on the commissioning of
the Murchison Widefield Array
(MWA) and
the Australian
SKA Pathfinder (ASKAP). While at CAASTRO, he developed
new techniques for dealing with
challenges associated with long-wavelength polarimetry
and used the MWA to observe linearly
polarised structures in the interstellar medium, linearly polarised
sources, and more recently searched for transients (flare stars,
exoplanets) and circularly polarised sources in the first all-sky
survey in circular polarisation. He will now be
contributing to ASKAP commissioning efforts and to
ultimately utilise the unique capabilities of ASKAP to perform a broad
range of transient, continuum and polarimetric science.
