    ISM: structure, dynamics, and thermal phases; Galactic structure, H I shells and supershells, interaction of massive stars with the ISM, mosaicing, short-spacings correction, H I spectroscopy, single dish and interferometric survey techniques, large dataset visualization

2004 -	I co-supervise the PhD projects of two students: A. Ford (Swinburne University) and K. Newton-McGee (University of Sydney)
2001 -	I regularly give lectures to amateur astronomy groups including: Central West Astronomical Society, Western Sydney Astronomical Society, British Astromical Association, the Minnesota Amateur Astronomers Society, and the North Sydney Astronomical Society
2002	I was the primary supervisor for an honours student at the University of Adelaide. Student: Mark Cheung. Project title: Supernova Remnants and the Interstellar Medium
2002	Occasional public presentations in the Parkes Visitors' Centre.
1999	I taught introductory astronomy at the University of Minnesota during the summer of 1999.  As the instructor of this course, I was responsible for all course materials in the lecture and laboratory. I prepared and presented lectures. A teaching assistant under my direction taught the laboratories.
1997-1998	I was a teaching assistant for introductory astronomy laboratories at the University of Minnesota. I taught two sections per term and I was responsible for the material presented therein.
1997-2000	I regularly deliver public outreach lectures for small groups of children including the Girl Scouts of America, high school classes, and special programs for girls interested in science.
