The first aperture synthesis radio continuum image of the outer lobes of Centaurus A

Abstract: We have recently completed the first aperture synthesis radio image of the entire 45 square degrees of the nearest radio galaxy, Centaurus A, using the Australia Telescope Compact Array and Parkes 64 m single dish. The spectropolarimetric observations were made at 1.4 GHz and 45 arcsec resolution – making this the most detailed image ever of a radio galaxy!
