THE GALACTIC CENTRE ASTROPHYSICS PROJECT
Project Leader: Neil Killeen
Mission
We, the members of the Galactic Centre Astrophysics Project, do solemnly
swear to wrestle with the Galactic Centre (or at least its projection)
until we know what is going on. We anticipate this understanding will
not occur immediately.
Others who have undertaken the same solemn oath can be found via
the Galactic Center Research
News Letter
Current Projects
There are a few G.C. projects underway at the ATNF. These are
- High resolution imaging and kinematics of SgrA~West (Neil Killeen,
Fred Lo [University of Illinois])
- Searching for extremely large Faraday Rotation towards SgrA*
(Jun-Hui Zhao [CFA], Neil Killeen, Ron Ekers [ATNF], Miller Goss [NRAO])
- Radio polarization studies in and near the G.C. (Raymond Haynes)
- Using OH/IR stars to measure the distance to the G.C. (Jessica
Chapman, Neil Killeen, Jim Caswell, Peter te Lintel)
