Title: Structure in the Ionized ISM on AU Scales and Below
Abstract: Recent evidence from the annual cycles and lightcurve power spectra of intra-day variable quasars indicates that patches of the ionized ISM exist with extremely anistropic and turbulent properties. I will discuss this in relation to the unusual structures we have found in our sub-AU resolution speckle imaging of the turbulence towards PSR 0834+06, which reveals highly inhomogeneous, anisotropic structures present in a thin region of the ISM along the line of sight to this pulsar. It also reveals a second scattering disk separated by 9 AU from the centre of the primary disk which may be related to the structures responsible for Extreme Scattering Events.
