ATNF - SEST Correlator
- 2 independent autocorrelators.
- Each autocorrelator will independently provide:
- Selectable bandwidths: 2GHz1, 1GHz, 512MHz, 256MHz, 128MHz, 64MHz.
- Input frequencies: At 2GHz and 1GHz BW, baseband signal.
At other bandwidths - yet to be determined.
- Nyquist sampling, 2 bits, 3 levels, at all bandwidths.
- Number of frequency channels: 2048 maximum at all bandwidths.
- Synchronous accumulation, for frequency and beam switching and
corresponding outputs for driving receiver/LO switches.
- The correlator will have its own clock generator, which will be locked
to a local standard frequency at 5 or 10MHz.
- Timing within the correlator will come from the standard ATNF
distributed clock/event generator system.
- A correlator control computer will supervise all aspects of the control,
monitoring and data taking of the correlator.
- Power input will be either 115 or 220V at 50 or 60 Hz.
Power requirements, yet to be determined.
- The correlator will be contained within an RF shielded rack.
Footnotes
- ... 2GHz1
- <> The 2GHz bandwidth is a design goal
and is not guaranteed to be available in the initial
installation. <>
