Agenda

  • Preparation for November VLBI session (Phillips/Tzioumis)
    • Who is going where?
    • Disk requirements?
  • eVLBI tests to Curtin (Phillips/Tingay)
  • ASKAP VLBI Expression of Interest (Tingay)
  • Update on Curtin correlator (Bignall)
  • Status of Ceduna relative delay changes between polarizations (Simon)
  • Block schedules in 2009 (UTAS is likely to be a bit stretched personnel wise in 2009 and Simon would like to discuss options to ease some of the pressure with more Ceduna friendly block schedules)
  • Update on Hobart DiFX installation and AuScope project (Lovell)
  • Update on New Zealand antenna (Gulyaev)
  • Update on Curtin cluster at Narrabri (Phillips/Amy)
  • IYA 24hr eVLBI demo (Phillips)

Actions arising

  • Tasso and Steven to determine if a Curtin person can go to observe at Parkes for the November session. ATNF can support travel. (Tasso/Steven)
  • Hayley, Claire, Chris and Indra to iterate in more detail on the disk requirements and numbers available for the November session. Initial estimates look ok, but a deeper check needed. (Hayley/Claire/Chris/Indra)
  • Correct version of DiFX needs to be installed at Curtin for support of Mark5 format eVLBI tests. (Cormac/Chris)
  • Check with Mark Favas on upgrade of Curtin connection via iVEC at enable 6 x 256 Mbps eVLBI to Curtin. (Steven)
  • Start production of ASKAP VLBI/eVLBI EoI when EoI announcement made on Nov 1. (Steven coordinate + all)
  • More investigation of the polarisation-dependent delays at Ceduna and perhaps scheduling of a test observation in November to debug. (Jim/Richard)
  • Investigate options for buying out Swinburne VLBI pool disks that are excess to what Matthew wants to keep for ongoing research. (Tasso/Steven)
  • One of Curtin Mark5B+ units to be shipped to AUT when they arrive, plus an invoice to AUT. (Steven)
  • Work to get the Curtin cluster at Narrabri up and running ASAP, maybe with an interim switch. (Tasso/Chris/Shaun)
  • Move of Swinburne archive of correlated VLBI data over to ATNF, with a copy to stay at Curtin for redundancy. (Steven/Claire)
  • Organise next telecon: 19 November 2008, 2pm Sydney time (Tasso/Chris)
