"[duchamp-user]" [Duchamp] New release: Duchamp 1.1.13

Gday All,

This is to announce an updated version of the Duchamp source finder is now available.
Release 1.1.13 features a couple of important bug fixes, and a few other relatively minor changes. The bug fixes are:
* A fix for an error in the calculation of the medians - the test for whether the array size was even was being done incorrectly (basically, array[size/2] was used as the median, instead of 0.5*(array[size/2]+array[size/2-1]). The correction for this can mean small differences in the resulting values. This can flow through to calculated detection thresholds - please check this with your data if you use this mode!
* The reconstruction code had a bug where the incorrect number of scales was being used. This occurred when the blank pixel flag was set, and when the spectral dimension was smaller than both the spatial dimensions. This applied to 2- and 3-dimensional reconstructions, and would usually manifest as a segmentation (or other memory) fault.
Otherwise, minor changes were made to the code base, with the main effect of reducing the memory impact of the reconstruction routines.

The new code is available for download from the usual place:
http://www.atnf.csiro.au/people/Matthew.Whiting/Duchamp/downloads.php
and any feedback (which is always welcome!) should be done via the Trac wiki:
http://svn.atnf.csiro.au/trac/duchamp/newticket
Note that the feedback can be either bug reports (such as the median bug discussed above) or suggested improvements.

I hope Duchamp continues to be of use to many of you.
Happy finding!

Matt Whiting.

PS:
This email is sent partly to the duchamp-users exploder, and partly to my own list of people who've been in touch with me in the past about Duchamp. If you don't want to receive these sort of emails, please let me know and I won't bother you with them again!
