Call for proposals for the 2024OCT semester

Proposals for observing time are now invited for the 2024OCT semester for the:

* ASKAP radio telescope;

* Australia Telescope Compact Array (ATCA);

* Murriyang, the 64-m Parkes radio telescope;

* Tidbinbilla 70-m and 34-m antennas; and

* Long Baseline Array (VLBI).

The deadline for all proposals is 07:00 UT (17:00 Sydney local time) on Friday, 14 June 2024.

All proposals must be submitted using the online proposal application system, OPAL (https://opal.atnf.csiro.au/)

Significant changes for the 2024OCT semester include:

* We expect to install the Cryogenically Cooled Phased Array Feed (CryoPAF) on Murriyang, the 64-m Parkes radio telescope, during Q3 2024. We are seeking expressions of interest for shared-risk CryoPAF time during January through March 2025.

* We expect to replace CABB with the BIGCAT upgrade to ATCA during the 2024OCT semester, but the installation date is yet to be confirmed. If your proposed project can only be carried out with either CABB or BIGCAT this should be clearly stated within the proposal text.

* ATNF proposals are fully anonymised. Proposals that reveal applicant identities will be penalised.

* We strongly encourage proposers to use the provided LaTeX template for ATNF scientific justifications, with appropriate BibTeX setup to support anonymisation.

Details of these changes and other important information on the current status of ATNF telescopes is provided at the link below.
