ATNF Student Symposium

The Australia Telescope National Facility Colloquium
09:30-16:30 Wed 06 Jun 2007

ATNF Marsfield Lecture Theatre

Abstract

The annual ATNF student symposium is being held in May at ATNF Headquarters, Sydney. The symposium began in 1998 and was originally designed to allow higher degree students the opportunity to present their research to fellow students and staff. The idea of the symposium is to provide an informal atmosphere where ATNF affiliated students can present their work and allow ATNF staff and visitors to be informed of current research. Attendance is open to all students, staff and visitors of ATNF. Students are invited to submit a short abstract for a 15-20min talk. All students are strongly encouraged to utilise this opportunity to obtain feedback on their research and it is expected by the ATNF that students will attend. It is important to note that these are not formal talks, but rather an opportunity for students to gain experience at public speaking and to provide staff the opportunity to see some of the excellent research being under taken by ATNF students.

Interstate students are particularly encouraged to present their work and teleconference facilities will be available for those that can not present in person.
