What are the IT requirements for both observing and non-observing schools?

PULSE@Parkes is designed to place little, if any, additional requirement on most schools for any IT resources. Schools require Internet access to view and download project materials. Most project materials do not require high bandwidth for effective use though some large multimedia files will be available in the near future.

The IT equipment used in the actual observing session is supplied by ATNF, either at Marsfield or for other remote observations.

Students analysing their observations must be able to download their data from the Internet via a web browser. Some activities use commonly available software including a spreadsheet such as Excelâ„¢ or an equivalent and a text editor. Collaboration with other schools may require a valid email account.
