Abstract We have detected no pulsars in a deep survey of the Galactic Centre region at an observing frequency centered at 1520 MHz. This survey confirms that either there is a lack of pulsars in the Galactic Centre or that scattering is severe in the inner hundred parsecs. This proposition could be tested by conducting surveys at higher observing frequencies.
