ESO 059-G001 (HIPASS J0731-68) is a Magellanic barred irregular galaxy at a TRGB distance of 4.57 ± 0.36 Mpc (Karachentsev et al. 2006). It appears very isolated with no known neighbours within at least 5 degrees. Our ATCA HI maps reveal a well-resolved, regularly rotating HI disc extending well beyond the irregular stellar disc. We measure FHI = 17.9 Jy km/s, in agreement with HIPASS (Koribalski et al. 2004), and derive MHI = 8.8 × 10107 M. Using 3D FAT Kamphuis et al. (2015) obtain an HI rotation curve indicating vrot = 61.0 km/s at Rmax = 5.4 kpc (for i = 50.2 degr and PA = 323.4 degr) and Mdyn = 4.7 × 109 M; see also van Eymeren et al. (2009c) and Kirby et al. (2012).
