Comments:

The purpose of these observations is to obtain the final epoch for proper motion observations of IRAS05011-6815 strongest methanol maser in the LMC. Previous observations were made under the (now lapsed) v135 experiment code. We are using the same observing mode as the v255 experiments, although there are no setup changes required for this experiment. The maser has a peak flux density of about 3.5 Jy and should be at a frequency of 6662.49 MHz, but probably wont be visible online (except perhaps at Parkes and the ATCA).

Observing comments for each antenna:

Hobart, Ceduna :

The setup requires only a single LO split and feed into IFP#1 and #2 on the DAS/frequency translator. For Hobart the LO should be set to 810 MHz (as for the higher frequency band for the v255h). For Ceduna, if you set the agilent to 11.1 GHz rather than 11.4 GHz, then you can use the same LO as at Hobart.

Parkes, ATCA, Mopra :

Parkes and ATCA install “straight through” cables from pkvsi1/2 to the two DAS. You will need to reinstall the Huygens cable before v289s. ATCA will record F2/DAS2 onto cavsi1. Parkes tune DAS1 to 6658 MHz and DAS2 to 6316.
