Angular separation of two sources

The calculator on this page allows you to calculate the angular separation of two sources in the sky using the corresponding equation derived on the “Spherical geometry” page. JavaScript must be enabled for the calculator to work. As usual, I cannot give any guarantee for the result to be correct, so please use this calculator with caution and at your own risk. Please let me know if you encounter any problems or errors.

Note: the allowed format of right ascension / longitude is hh:mm:ss.s, hh mm ss.s, or d.d, while the format of declination / latitude is ±dd:mm:ss.s, ±dd mm ss.s, or ±d.d. The coordinates of both sources must be in the same coordinate system, e.g. J2000 or Galactic.
