Welcome to my homepage. I am the Science Leader for the Galactic ISM Group at the CSIRO Australia Telescope National Facility (ATNF). I lead a small group of researchers with the aim of better understanding the structure and evolution of the Milky Way. My personal research focuses on the structure and dynamics of neutral hydrogen in the Galaxy. My large projects include the Galactic All Sky Survey and the Southern Galactic Plane Survey.

For some history: I was born in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. I grew up in Portland, Oregon where I attended Lincoln High School, graduating in 1993. I did my undergraduate degree in physics (plus a lot of french, history and religion) at Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio, graduating in 1997. After Oberlin I went to graduate school at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota where I completed my PhD in astrophysics in 2001. In September 2001 I came to the ATNF as first a Bolton Postdoctoral Fellow and then a CSIRO Senior Postdoc.
