Welcome to the Australia Telescope National Facility

CSIRO operates several radio astronomy observatories, telescopes and data archives that are collectively known as the Australia Telescope National Facility (ATNF).

The ATNF is one of the world’s most advanced radio astronomy facilities and offers a powerful view of the southern sky, supporting world-leading research by Australian and international astronomers. Our dedicated staff work across operations, research and technology in radio astronomy.

We’re hiring!

Join our team. We have 12 roles available to support the ATNF’s observatories in NSW and WA. Our telescopes are some of the best in the world, and require many skilled technicians to meet the challenges of operating future technologies in remote locations.

  • Electronics, industrial and mechanical technicians of various skill levels
  • HSE advisor

Roles are tailored to different skill levels, suitable for those just starting out or who already have technical experience. If you’re not sure you meet the criteria and would like to discuss, please contact careers.online@csiro.au.
