| Gas in Galaxies conference |

| Participants at the
"Life-cycle of gas in galaxies:
A Local Perspective" conference held last week (Aug 31 - Sept 4) enjoying
both the sunshine and the hospitality at ASTRON. This conference brought
together Galactic and extragalactic astronomers who study accretion, gas and
star formation to paint a complete picture of how galaxies acquire their gas,
convert HI to molecular gas, and form stars. Over the course of the week we
heard talks and discussed key topics related to gas accretion and star
formation. Thanks go to Betsey Adams and the SOC/LOC for putting together an excellent scientific program and for a flawlessly organised meeting. |
