International Year of Light 2015
A Broadband Study of the Supernova Remnant MSH 11-62
MSH 11-62 (G291.1-0.9) is a composite supernova remnant for which ATCA radio and Chandra / XMM-Newton X-ray observations have identified the remnant shell as well as its central pulsar wind nebula (Slane et al. 2012). The image - chosen as one of the breathtaking new space images in honor of the International Year of Light (IYL2015) - shows X-ray emission in blue, ATCA radio emission in pink and visible-light from the Digitized Sky Survey (DSS) in yellow.
