In a few days time this beautiful
Phased-Array Feed (PAF) - shown above in the CSIRO Marsfield lab -
will be transported to Parkes and hoisted up into the 64-m Parkes
telescope focus cabin. Before that can happen, the powerful 21-cm
multibeam receiver (link) needs to be taken down. After operating
the PAF on Parkes it will be shipped to Germany in October 2016, where
it will be installed at the famous 100-m Effelsberg telescope, run
by the Max Planck Institut for Radioastronomy (MPIfR) in Bonn.
