A recent visit to the Murchison Radioastronomy
Observatory (MRO) by (from left to right) Giovanni Bignami (SKA Board chair),
Patricia Kelley (DIIS Deputy Secretary, Australian SKA Board member), Jane
Urquart (DIIS Head of Science and Commercialisation Policy), Ant Schinckel
(ASKAP Director), Phil Diamond (SKA DG), Lister Staveley-Smith (ICRAR) and Tom
Booler (ICRAR). The comprehensive visit included the RFI shielded Control
Building, ASKAP, the newly-upgraded core of MWA, the recently commissioned
MRO solar/diesel Horizon Power station and the SKA-low proposed core site. The
visitors were also delighted by the unusually abundant wildflowers of the
season. Photographer: Brett Hiscock |
