ATNF Colloquium: The role of environment in galaxy evolution
by Alessandro Boselli (LAM, Marseille)
Our speaker will review the most recent results on the study of the role of the environment in galaxy evolution based on the analysis of multifrequency data of nearby clusters, and in particular of Virgo. The multifrequency data covering the whole range from UV to radio centimetres are compared to the predictions of tuned models of galaxy evolution in dense environments. The speaker will show how different scenarios can explain the formation of the red sequence at the faint and bright end.
