Last week saw the IAU
Symposium 321 "Formation and Evolution of Galaxy Outskirts"
take place in Toledo, Spain. The goal of the symposium was
to improve our knowledge on the assembly and evolution of galaxy outskirts,
and to use these outer regions as a probe of the interplay between galaxies and the
intergalactic medium surrounding them. The CASS contingent included
Baerbel Koribalski, co-supervised Ph.D. student Mustafa Yildiz,
Karen Lee-Waddell (all pictured here, left to right, at a well deserved conference
dinner) as well as Jing Wang.
