Parkes discovers more Fast Radio Bursts |
by Simon Johnston (CASS) |
Bhandari et al. (2017)
report the discovery of four further Fast Radio Bursts (FRBs) using the 64-m
Parkes telescope as part of the ongoing SUPERB survey for pulsars and
transients. - FRB 160102 (bottom right panel) is now the record holder in
terms of dispersion measure with a value of 2596 pc cm-3 which
translates to a possible redshift of 2.1. Reference: Bhandari et al. 2017, MNRAS, in press |
