A great article by Alak Ray (Tata Institute, India) on the IAU Symposium 331, celebrating the 30th anniversary of SN1987A, published last week in Nature Astronomy. The multi-wavelength images shown above were compiled by Phil Cigan. The Australia Telescope Compact Array (ATCA) 44 GHz radio continuum image (top left) was provided by Giovana Zanardo et al. (2014, ApJ 767, 98). The overlaid yellow contours denote the bright ring emission observed by the Hubble Space Telescope (HST).
