Welcome Elizabeth Mahony |
Elizabeth Mahony has been a regular visitor at CASS since she was a
co-supervised ATNF student and she has now officially joined
CASS as a research scientist. After completing her Ph.D. at the
University of Sydney in 2011 she took up a postdoctoral position at
ASTRON in the Netherlands before moving back to the University of
Sydney for a second postdoc in 2015.
Her research interests are focused on active galaxies and studying the interaction between the central supermassive black hole and its host galaxy. She is heavily involved in the First Large Absorption Line Survey in HI (FLASH), using ASKAP to identify and characterise neutral hydrogen along the line of sight towards bright radio sources. And she is also looking forward to getting involved in new projects and exploring different fields. |
