Voyager 2 leaves the solar system
NASA announced at the American Geophysical Union meeting this week that the Voyager 2, launched in 1977, has left the solar system and entered interstellar space. Voyager 2 is about 18 billion kilometres from Earth and still sending back data that are being recorded at the Parkes radio telescope and the Tidbinbilla tracking station.
